The extension of Metro Line 1 envisages the creation of other two stretches (southbound and westbound). The “Lingotto – Bengasi” section, already completed, officially entered into operation on April 23, 2021, inaugurating the two new stations, “Italia 61” and “Bengasi” (terminus station). The route runs entirely underground along Via Nizza, extending to Via Sestriere at the beginning of the Municipality of Moncalieri. While the gallery in the westbound stretch crosses the areas of Collegno and Rivoli, covering an overall distance of 3.4 km.
