The Murazzi del Po complex extends along the left bank of the river, between Ponte Umberto I and Ponte Vittorio Emanuele I, reaching as far as Corso San Maurizio. It consists of a series of historic arcades, almost entirely municipally owned, originally built as storage spaces and shelters for boats and later converted into commercial premises and leisure facilities.

After years of closure and safety consolidation works, the City of Turin has launched a redevelopment programme aimed at returning the Murazzi to the city, with the objective of recreating a place dedicated to social life, culture, and river-based sports. A key component of this strategy is the River Center, an innovation, dissemination, and public service hub to be established within several restored arcades of the Murazzi section. The River Center will also be linked to the project for the restoration of tourist navigation on the Po River, featuring electric boats and new docking facilities.
