The origins of the San Giacomo di Stura monastery-hospital date back to 1146. In 1954, it was declared unsafe, leading to the suspension of religious services, and in 1960, it was deconsecrated. In a state of semi-abandonment, with deteriorating structures, restoration work began in 2017, first on the facades and later on the interior spaces.
