The complex, consisting of three buildings, lies north-west of the historic centre, not far from the main line of Torino ring road system. This complex is part of the urban transformation called Spina 3 in the general town planning scheme and includes the area between via Verolengo and corso Potenza, corso Umbria, and corso Principe Oddone. The original manufacturing plant, set up in 1903, went through several changes in time, growing in size especially in the second and third decades of the 20th century. In the 1960s, Superga brand became famous worldwide, while in the following decades, due to the crisis of the manufacturing industry, most factories were abandoned and demolished, replaced by new multi-storey residential buildings and a green area.
The former Superga building is now set to become a library storage facility for the Civica Calvino Library of Lungo Dora Agrigento 94. The project is funded through the PNRR (Measure 5.2).
