The ex-Westinghouse site is situated in one of the most accessible areas in the city, where over the last few years several actions have been taken (Intesa Sanpaolo, extension of Politecnico di Torino, Energy Center, OGR Cultural Hub). Porta Susa high-speed railway station and the related metro station are located nearby.

In 2023, the project proposed by Esselunga S.p.A. for the transformation of the area was approved. The project currently envisages, in the southern plot, the construction of a 5,000-seat conference centre (on the area currently used as a car park) and a 180-room hotel (through the redevelopment of the Fabbrica Nebiolo building). In the northern plot, partly occupied by the Lamarmora Barracks and partly by existing gardens, the development includes a new supermarket and public green spaces.

By the end of 2025, the approval process of the Detailed Implementation Plan is at an advanced stage, although not yet completed.
