Amione barracks were built in 1912-1913 in Art Nouveau style and were home to SCAT car factory founded by Giovanni Ceirano in 1906. In 2018 the State Property Agency, in agreement with Città di Torino, the Italian Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Heritage, Culture and Tourism, and the Fondazione per l’architettura / Torino, launched a competition to search for ideas about the transformation of this complex into a public administration district.

The redevelopment project of the historic Turin property envisages the construction of a modern office building and the adaptive reuse of the barracks, which are protected under the Italian Cultural Heritage Code.
