In the former Porta Susa railway station a luxury hotel, named “Scalo 1856” and part of the Marriott Tribute collection, is planned, featuring 7 storeys and 203 rooms, a double-height restaurant, conference and meeting rooms, a lounge bar, and a panoramic terrace overlooking Piazza XVIII Dicembre. The project envisages the use of prefabricated timber modules and sustainable materials, as well as the redevelopment of the external areas with a fully equipped public square and green spaces. Construction works are expected to start by the end of 2025.
The redevelopment of the outdoor spaces includes the creation of an equipped public square and landscaped areas. The start of construction works is scheduled for early 2026.
