The redevelopment project of Valentino Park, covering the area between Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and the outskirts of the Vallere area, is one of the most significant investments by the City in the coming years. The goal is to create a cohesive and distinctive system that reinforces the park’s cultural and leisure vocation through the restoration and enhancement of the river’s navigability, the architectural and historical heritage, and their integration with the park’s landscape and environmental resources.
The main interventions currently underway include the redevelopment of the Nervi Pavilion at Torino Esposizioni, which will house the new Central Civic Library, the restoration of the Teatro Nuovo, the renovation and enhancement of the hospitality and tourist offerings at the Medieval Village, the reinstatement of navigation on the Po River, and the reorganization of the park to improve accessibility while increasing its climate neutrality.
Alongside the projects promoted by the City, the Polytechnic University of Turin is working on the completion of its Architecture, Planning, and Design campus at Valentino, through the redevelopment of three pavilions within the Torino Esposizioni complex, which will be repurposed as educational spaces.
