With the Po river flood levels exceeding average values, the upstream grid shows considerable discharge problems, regarding also large overleaf areas. It is necessary to secure the districts and villages in the southern part of the city, severely hit by the flood in 2000 and constantly at flood risk due to heavy rainfalls. The drainage canal is around 1,100 m long starting from Ficca canal up to the loading tank of the water-pumping system. The loading tank is made of concrete and has a net inner width of around 17.0 m and height of 5.30 m. The pumping station consists of 10 water pumps, 8 with a capacity of 1.5 m3/s and 2 with a capacity of 1 m3/s.
