Gesù Redentore

The Church of Jesus the Redeemer, designed by architects Nicola and Leonardo Mosso and engineer Livio Norzi, is built in Mirafiori neighbourhood, in the middle of a meadow. It will soon become the heart of a neighbourhood gathering the numerous families of Fiat workers migrated from the North-East and South of Italy. It consists of a single nave with an unconventional vault of reinforced concrete with perspectival views and light effects due to the use of few basic triangular elements recalling Guarini’s style. The church in piazza Giovanni XXIII is one of the most interesting among the buildings erected at the end of the ‘50s in the new residential neighbourhoods of the city.
