Palazzaccio

Completion of Palazzo dei Lavori Pubblici in piazza San Giovanni, designed by architects Mario Passanti, Paolo Perona and Giovanni Garbaccio. The building fills the empty space left in front of the Cathedral since the demolition of Castellamonte Palace in the ‘30s. It is probably one of the most contested architectural works in Torino, despite its designers carefully respected the urban morphology and the scale ratio with the surrounding space.
