Don Luigi Ciotti founds the association “Gioventù impegnata”, which in 1968 changes its name to “Gruppo Abele” and whose goal is to “be a voice for the voiceless”. In the same year Michele Pellegrino is appointed archbishop of Torino. He stands out for his care about the actual problems of poor people and employment: among other things, he subdivides Torino into new vicar’s zones and promotes the experience of worker priests.
