Palazzo Campana

In February, the student movement occupies Palazzo Campana, home to the Faculty of Humanities of Università degli Studi, as part of a larger protest against the university reform. It is the beginning of several protests, also linked with the workers’ struggle, and prelude to the Sessantotto, the upheavals of 1968 which will lead to profound social and political transformations all over the country. From now on, the social struggles promoted by the students’ movement and, subsequently, by extra-parliamentary groups, will have a great impact on society, with sudden strikes and marches in industrial plants, episodes of indiscipline and illegality which will last until the mid-‘70s.
