Processo BR

The trial of the Red Brigades starts on 9th March in Lamarmora barracks building which, on that occasion, is surrounded by sand bags and machine guns. The trial had already been postponed twice: in 1976, after Genoa’s attorney general Francesco Coco had been assassinated, and in April 1977, after the assassination of the president of Torino’s lawyer association Fulvio Croce, who had accepted to be the defence duty lawyer. In 1978, after 134 defections, the jury is finally set up: the name of Adelaide Aglietta is drawn (at that time secretary of the Radical Party) and unlike many others, she accepts the task.
