Castello di Rivoli

Opening of Museo di Arte Contemporanea at Castello di Rivoli. The castle restoration by architect Andrea Bruno is based on an innovative public-private management (Regione Piemonte, Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, entrepreneurs) and is crucial in promoting functional restoration as “a driving investment which can create cultural, tourist and commercial opportunities” (Aldo Viglione, president of Regione Piemonte, 1984). It will be fundamental for Torino as it starts shaping a new cultural and tourist identity after the city-factory experience. The director called to open the castle as a museum is Rudi Fuchs, who organizes important exhibitions which make Rivoli the most important museum of contemporary art in Italy and among the major ones in Europe.
