Casa Aurora

The construction of Casa Aurora is completed, the headquarters of Gruppo Finanziario Tessile (GFT) designed by Milan architect Aldo Rossi with Gianni Braghieri. The building, Rossi’s personal interpretation of Turin-based architecture, includes offices and a small theatre for the Rivetti family-run company that, between the ‘50s and ‘70s, becomes one of the main Italian enterprises specialized in the mass production of wearing apparel, in particular with the Facis brand. After the ‘70s, because of the crisis in consumption, GFT will complement mass manufacture with branded prêt-à-porter clothes, starting a collaboration with designers, such as Armani, Valentino, Ungaro. It is the peak of a success that will start to decline in the ‘90s, until the company closure in 2003.
