The former Istituto di riposo per la vecchiaia in corso Unione Sovietica, one of the biggest 19th century buildings in Torino closed in the mid-seventies, is restored and converted into the seat of the Faculty of Economics and of CSI Piemonte data centre (the latter was set up in 1979). The design is by Andrea Bruno, responsible also for the restoration of Palazzo Carignano and Castello di Rivoli. It is the first step towards the construction of Torino as a university city.
