Piano regolatore

Approval of the new Piano Regolatore Generale di Torino, the town planning scheme developed by architects Vittorio Gregotti and Augusto Cagnardi. The document, started in 1987 with the collaboration of the Municipality technical offices, manages to match very complex issues (decommissioning of industrial areas, creation of infrastructures on the territory, shaping of the new urban identity) with pre-existing projects, integrating them into a complex system of computer-generated images. In this context, the project of Spina Centrale is developed, the great boulevard which, covering the rail link, crosses the city from North to South for 13 km and connects the wide dismissed industrial areas for the creation a new urban centrality.
