Birth of Corona Verde project, with a position paper developed by a group of protected regional areas surrounding the city. The goal is to reorganize and redevelop Torino with a set of actions whose priority is the ecological rebalancing and promotion of the historical, cultural and landscape heritage. The connection between natural areas, rural areas and the Savoy Residences creates an ecological and environmental infrastructure on a metropolitan scale. In 2000 the project becomes a strategic regional programme. The second phase starts in 2009, with the use of 2007-2013 structural funds.
