On January 16th, the city council approves the regolamento per il governo dei beni comuni urbani, the urban commons regulation of Città di Torino: “The flowerbed near home, the community garden, the square, the school courtyard, an abandoned place, but also intangible assets can be “urban commons”. They become so when the citizens and public administration recognize and take care of them, making sure they are suitably managed and regenerated. The essential principles for managing urban commons are sustainability, shared care and participation in the decision-making process”.
