last update: 01/10/2020
sources: Iren SpA

In 2020-25 several projects will be implemented to extend the district heating network in Torino and to the city first ring: over 150 km will be added to the existing network (around 600 km), for an additional total volume of 13 million m³and the connection of around 1800 heating substations. The greatest technical and architectural project will be the one in San Salvario, wheredistrict heating will be taken to ahistorically not served area through the installation of a heat accumulator system of around 2,500 m³, pumping stations and the laying of around 18 km of network. The planned volume will be of around 2.2 Mm³ for a total ofaround 350 new utilities. To increase the system reliability without creating new stations, a double connection to the existing district heating network has been envisaged for the southern and central zones of Torino.
