Torino Nuova Economia is a publicly owned company founded in 2005, with the aim of developing and maintaining a production activity center in the former Fiat Mirafiori area (industrial site, former automotive production): about 300,000 sqm-large industrial area to be regenerated by enhancing its strategic role with the construction of a new multifunctional innovation, research and development hub. It is located at the future Piazza Mirafiori, in proximity to the Tangenziale (ringroad) / Highway and is divided in three areas: Zone A, Zone B, Zone C.
Zone A: the goal is to set up a “Cittadella Politecnica della Mobilità”, a centre for training, research and technological transfer. The project will also include a multifunctional centre. Short time schedule: 2011 Opening of the new “Design Center” (first lot), 2017 Nova Coop acquired an area to develop a multifunctional centre including commercial and service activities (Construction scheduled for 2020-2021), 2018-2019 “Manufacturing Technology Competence Center”: upon request of the Politecnico di Torino and the Unione Industriale di Torino this new project is currently undergoing assessment.
