Metro line 2 will facilitate crossing the city along its main north- east/south-west axis. It will be fully automated to reduce waiting time
and extend service to all time ranges. Line 2 will connect 32 stations on an overall route of 27 km. The infrastructure will strengthen the
connection among the city main sites, such as FCA Mirafiori plant, Campus Einaudi and Politecnico di Torino, the city centre and San Giovanni Bosco hospital.
Line 2 will supplement the existing public transport service thanks to
three stations: Zappata, Rebaudengo and Porta Nuova.
In addition, three park & ride areas for public and private vehicles will be created to improve the transport system intermodality in the stations of Orbassano, Anselmetti and San Mauro.
